MEDIEVAL EGYPTIAN COUNTED-THREAD EMBROIDERY
These are two samples I worked in silk on linen. The patterns were both charted from photographs of surviving fragments, the first from Otavsky (p. 105, No. 66) and the second from Abegg (p. 27, fig. 19). The upper, empty lozenge in the second piece was originally filled with drawnwork.
